Water Balcony Room
Morning light and a private place to watch the water.

Built nearly a century ago on a sheltered bend of the shore, Velmora was restored to preserve the stillness of an old Italian lake house while welcoming a handful of guests each season.
ARCHITECTURAL RESTRAINT
When the villa was first constructed in 1928, its proportions were guided by the summer breeze off the water: tall shuttered windows to catch morning light, deep stone arcades for midday shade, and stepped terraces descending through cypress and olive trees to a private stone jetty.
Our restoration stripped back decades of ornament to let the original Moltrasio stone, hand-trowelled lime walls and chestnut beams speak quietly. Nothing feels hurried or hotel-like; books sit on low tables, linen curtains move with the lake air, and every threshold looks toward water or foliage.

HOW THE HOUSE LIVES
Coffee and warm brioche are served under the pergola or carried to your private balcony as the first passenger ferries cross the distant mist.
Spend the warm hours swimming from the private landing, reading beneath ancient cypress trees, or setting out aboard our wooden launch.
Aperitivi on the limestone terrace give way to a seasonal menu of lake fish, garden greens and northern wines by candlelight.
